As the global shipping industry moves toward carbon-neutral solutions, Hammelmann is expanding its cooperation with Zhoushan Xinya shipyard in the Chinese market by supplying environmentally friendly technologies.
In April 2025, Hammelmann entered a strategic partnership with Zhoushan Xinya, signing a procurement order for nearly 100 Hammelmann ultra-high-pressure water jet systems and ship cleaning equipment such as pumps, DOCKBOYS and DOCKMATES.
This collaboration not only achieves complementary advantages in technology R&D and market resources but also sets a new benchmark for low-carbon development in the global shipbuilding industry chain by replacing traditional sandblasting with the application of ultra-high-pressure water jet technology.
Song Ming, General Manager of Hammelmann China, stated that the successful delivery of this project represents a significant practice of both companies' ESG commitments (Environment-Social-Government), with plans to further deepen localized cooperation in the future.
In mid-June, Hammelmann completed the delivery and acceptance of the first batch of high-pressure plunger pump equipment within 55 days after contract signing. Zhoushan Xinya has now officially put these systems into operation. Benefits of the new equipment:
With its four-dock, sixteen-berth shipyard complex and 4,013-meter coastline, Zhoushan Xinya boasts an annual ship repair capacity exceeding 500 vessels. As one of China’s leading private shipyards, Zhoushan Xinya is driving innovation to enhance its service capabilities, contributing modern solutions to global ship maintenance.
