Hammelmann celebrates 75 years of innovation

From Oelde to the World – Innovations in High-Pressure Technology

Paul Hammelmann founded the company in 1949. His enthusiasm for technology and innovative spirit led him to decide in 1955 to build high-pressure pumps and cleaning systems – still the foundation of Hammelmann GmbH today.

In the following years, Paul Hammelmann made the company a pioneer of groundbreaking developments in the field of hydrodynamics. The foundation was laid by the DP 60, which was used for cleaning purposes in the paper industry, with an operating pressure of 60 bar and a flow rate of 60 l/min. By comparison: today's high-pressure pumps achieve operating pressures of 4500 bar and flow rates of up to 3000 l/min.

Fun for all ages

On a family-day, we celebrated together with all employees, retired colleagues and their families. In addition to delicious snacks and refreshments, there were numerous activities to keep visitors entertained. A photo booth, a trainees’ booth, a carousel, a bouncy castle and face painting provided the best entertainment. Part of the new hall was festively decorated and provided seating to invite people to linger.

A tour of the company gave a glimpse behind the scenes of production and the opportunity to show family and friends their own workplace. Parts of Hammelmann’s product range were presented outside.

Technology leader now and in the future

In his opening speech, Managing Director Giari Fiorucci highlighted the cornerstones of the company's success as a global market leader: cohesion, innovation and growth.

“It is the employees who shape Hammelmann with dedication, passion and commitment,” he said, thanking all colleagues and former employees. He particularly highlighted the pioneering work of his predecessors, Wolfgang Leifeld and Burkhard Helmig, who were also among the guests that day.

“Our innovative strength has continuously driven us to boldly break new ground and find progressive solutions. That’s how we got to the top – where we’ll stay.” Giari Fiorucci described the third success factor, growth, as follows: “Hammelmann has grown continuously with care and foresight. We are building on a solid foundation with the people at the center – this includes not only our employees but also our customers and partners."

And for the future, the managing director is convinced that the prevailing strong team spirit and tireless desire for innovation will help to overcome challenges and continue successes.

More space for first-class work

In 2014, Hammelmann GmbH moved from its founding location in the north of Oelde to its current premises on Carl-Zeiss-Straße. Due to the increasing demand for Hammelmann's high-pressure technology and the growing requirements for modern production and working environments, another large production hall was built this year directly next to the existing building complex. In the future, the training workshop, the service department and parts of the assembly department will move to a new location there.

During the family-day, guests were able to get a first impression of the new facility. “The new production hall symbolizes our willingness to continue to grow and develop,” says Giari Fiorucci. The move to the new premises will take place in the coming months.
